The microclimate of Liébana
Liébana is famous for itsMediterranean microclimate. Being closed by high mountains,
It rains less and there is more sun than in the rest of Cantabria. Even so, it is still a mountain.
Each season offers a totally different experience.

- It is hot in Potes (sometimes very hot), but the nights are cool to sleep.
- There is more atmosphere, village festivals and street life.
Advice:Book accommodation and cable car well in advance.
- The beech and oak forests become spectacular (ocher, red).
- In November it isPomace Festival, the event of the year.
- Hunting and mushroom season (seasonal cuisine).
- If it snows, the landscape is like a fairy tale. Snowy Potes is magical.
