The Fiesta del Orujo is much more than a gastronomic event; it is the most important celebration in the Liébana valley. Declared of National Tourist Interest since 2012, every second weekend of November Potes transforms to pay tribute to its millennial winemaking tradition.
Thousands of visitors come to enjoy the lighting of the alembics, traditional music in the streets and, of course, the tasting of the best pomace brandy in the world.
The Liébana orujo is distinguished by the use of the copper alembic, a slow and traditional distillation system that allows extracting the purest aromas of the grape. During the festival, this process takes to the streets: you can see how the brandy is distilled live in the Plaza de la Serna.
The festival is always celebrated on the second weekend of November.

The party begins with the inauguration of the venue, music in the squares and the first tastings at the distilleries' booths.
