The last town in the valley

1. The town of Espinama

Espinama is a long town, crossed by the road, surrounded by meadows and mountains. It maintains a very marked rural character, with stone houses, granaries and stables.

From Espinama there is barely3–4 kilometersto the base of the cable car.

3. Routes from Espinama

Áliva track

From Espinama there is the track that goes up towards the Puertos de Áliva. It is the classic downhill route from Fuente Dé, but it can also be done going up (hard) or by 4x4.

  • Walk to Pido and surroundings.
  • Route to Las Ilces / Cosgaya (down the valley).
  • High mountain routes (for experts).

4. Practical tips

  • Clothes:It gets cool here at night even in August.
