Pesaguerois for those looking for the most authentic Liébana: secondary roads, small towns and a very marked mountain sensation. It is the natural passage from Palencia through Piedrasluengas. It is an excellent area forshort walks, rural photographyand calm plans.

1. Towns and environment

Pesaguero is not a place “of monuments”, but a place oflandscape and rural rhythm.

  • Pesaguero:Municipal capital.
  • Lomeña, Basieda, Lerones:Typical Lebanese villages.
  • Caloca:On the southern edge, very picturesque.

Look at its traditional stone architecture and stone or slate roofs.

2. Landscape and photography

The best experience is usually the highway (CA-184) and its stops: hills, curves with views, open meadows. For “top” viewpoints in this area, nothing likelongstones. See viewpoint guide.

3. Routes and walks

  • Short tracks through meadows and slopes near the towns.
  • Traditional trails between villages.
  • Higher slope routes to Bistruey or Peña Labra (mountain climbers only).

4. Practical tips

  • Take advantage: the journeys are slow but beautiful.
  • Ideal to combine withPotsas a base, or if you enter/exit through Palencia.
  • In winter it is a cold and snowy area; pay attention to the road.
